“Be a notebook and allow God to be the pen”.. Paulo Coelho

My friend SS is a Hajji in the true sense of the term. He is deeply spiritual, religious without being dogmatic, a true disciple of the Lord. He is simple like a child and generally has great faith in all humankind. SS narrated this incident in his own style.

SS was recently travelling to Jamshedpur on an assignment. He was on an invigilation duty and was travelling by train. SS was carrying an envelope which had a letter of introduction from his Manager and his return ticket in it. When he reached Howrah station it was raining so SS had his umbrella in his hand along with the envelope. On boarding the train SS discovered that he had lost the envelope .SS was worried but did not panic. He thought of the next steps . He immediately called up his Manager in Kolkata and informed him about the loss. A surprise was waiting for him.

His envelope had been found. SS was asked to meet a gentleman one Mr. B, a complete stranger in Coach no. 3 of the same train. SS was in Coach no. 2. What a remarkable coincidence!

SS discovered that Mr. B was not the original finder of the missing envelope. Another not so educated fellow had picked up the envelope from the platform area and was looking around in a slightly confused state not being able to decide what to do next with his new found property. Mr. B chanced upon the man, was curious, started probing and then the trail of events followed. He got the contact details of SS’s Manager from the letter and called him up to inform him about the lost and found property.

It is amazing that Mr B was travelling by the same train on the same route. It was equally amazing that of all things on the earth SS’s benefactor noticed this person roaming around with the envelope. Truth is stranger than fiction.

To the believer at times this is God’s way of standing by his true disciple .
