Your parents ,Your child

“All I am, or can be, I owe to my angel mother. “ Abraham Lincoln

When my friend told me how painful it was to see his son suffer I could immediately sense how terrible he and his wife were feeling. No form of love can be as pure and spiritual as a parent’s love for their child.

If you are middle aged, single, independent and taken quite a few knocks from life and still have your parent/s around, I am sure you have never failed to be touched and surprised by the love you continue receiving from your parent/s in spite of all your frailties. I am sure all individuals feel the same way irrespective of their status in life. But when you are young you tend to overlook so many things in life .Unless you experience a critical loss in life or apprehend losing something precious in life you really do not understand its value. Loss of a parent, a loving relation , a precious friend really shakes your confidence in life.

Yet I have known people who have been separated from their children for ages. How does one bear the separation and loss? The very thought is so soul wrenching. Does God compensate such losses in other ways? If it is at all possible to replace ones own flesh and blood with substitutes..

I have also encountered great devotion from children towards their parents. Our office courier boy PB wore a red tilak today on his forehead .When I asked him which temple did he visit he smiled and said his only temple was the crematorium by the Ganges where he had left his parents. They were his only God. He never goes to any other temple. PB is a simple, humble soul who reminds me of Sharmaji. Sharmaji had the same logic .His only God were his parents. His mother was alive and he would take any orders from her without batting an eyelid. Sharmaji never worshipped anyone else. He was the most unloved , uncared man on earth struggling hard to see his only son succeed in life. Sharmaji was another pure soul who was almost like a saint in his integrity and honesty. I have never heard PB or Sharmaji complaining about life .Both of them go beyond the call of duty to serve people which is amazing. Their love for parents is straightforward , simple ,uncomplicated and complete .

I think you have to be really blessed to be so humble and grateful in life.
