Today's Kids
Yesterday I was called to attend a counseling session. Two young boys and girls both just out of high school were found in the drivers loo in our office complex. I was quite struck by their attitude. They did not appear to be unnerved by the situation. Rather were quite straight forward when questioned. Our concern was more security related .We were not interested in doing moral policing .I realized that their friendship was pretty new and both the kids were above average in academic achievements .The girl looked sweet and simple . It did not appear to me from the discussions that they had any kind of moral dilemma about their action and being discovered in a not so comfortable state. My colleague gave them some balanced advice about behaving responsibly in public places. I hope the message had gone down well. The guy promised to share his learning on facebook. We seem to be nurturing an over confident generation .

It is not really fair to judge a generation by an instance. Don't you remember a classmate of ours locking himself in a vacant classroom with his girlfriend during class hours while we were doing our post graduation some 28 years ago? So the issue then was libido as it is now. Only the present generation is lot more honest than we were in admitting that body matters.
